There is a guy, Clément Mihailescu, who makes front end interview preps, algorithm stuff etc…
But in this article, I’m gonna talk about the smart strategy he uses to promote his work.

Using girls for marketing
I don’t understand, why people actually use girls/women for marketing. I mean can’t a guy with his white board like me be used in these kind of ads? : D
No, of course not! It has to be a girl. If you read the comment section in the video, you’ll find only guys talking about the girl and marketing strategy.
Most of them even think that they were lucky enough to view this :)
But why use girls/women anyway?
I’m not an expert in marketing, but here is what I understand from watching these type of ads.
Not only that guy, but even giant corporations use the same technique.
Here’s an example: ın your search bar type: “udemy.com” it’ll take you to Udemy.
The first thing you’ll see, is a beautiful girl/woman is smiling at you. Kinda feels like “Welcome home, you are at the right place”
Again, why do they use girls/women?
My understanding is that:
- If vast majority of clients are men (It makes sense to use a woman/girl)
- If you are a man (They also use Psychology )
- Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behavior. (Opposite attraction stuff, if you are religious read the following) Wikipedia
- In most religions, they mention that Example: “Men and Women complete each other. source: “Islam”
- They also use your feelings, too, for ads
- If your mind is being controlled by them, it means success = sales = money
The way she talks ( sweet? or pornographic? )
Now, don’t get me wrong! I don’t have anything against women/girls.
But the way companies do it. I don’t like it.
If you have ever watched porn. You know that, girls in porn videos talk & act differently then they do in real life.
Why? Maybe is it the way you want them to be in your dreams/life. Maybe for the most part you find things in porn that you can’t find in real life?
Porn has its own negative effects on people. But it’s a whole and big topic/discussion on its own.
If you still want to compare the way she talks:
- watch this video only 3 seconds at the begining
- then read comment section of that video
- Then compare it to any adult video you want.
To me the way she talks it feels/sounds like:
- Cute smile (Intentional — fictional)
- Sexy voice (Intentional-fictional)
- Sexy Dress (Or whatever it is, intentional)
- Attractiveness (Like it has to be a “Hot Latina” ? :D )
Now, does it give jobs to girls? Yes!
Do companies make money? Yes!What about you? I mean what do you get as a consumer ? Probably
* (brain satisfaction)
* then knowledge (service depending on what the company sells/offers)
Maybe it’s an evil strategy? or is it a win-win strategy? I don’t know. Probably it’s a case-by-case study.
At the end, you have right to chose whatever you do, how much you spend. But, when you don’t have control is “when your mind is being controlled or manipulated” by others.
Showing body parts in the video (I don’t like)
If you watched first 3 second in the video, you can clearly see that both boobs 50% visible. Like what the heck is that? How is it related to front end development?
Well, it’s 2022 and almost everything is okay now.
I know you may say “Men can show their chest” that’s not gender equality.
Feel free to walk completely naked as a man or woman. Maybe in the near future it’s also gonna be okay.
